Goal: Provide Environmental Health Specialists with a solid foundation for performing and reviewing soil evaluations for OWTS permitting.
Objective: This 6-hour in-person training session will provide Environmental Health Specialists with essential knowledge of soil characteristics that affect the function of OWTS, enabling them to understand key soil concepts and apply them to OWTS design to promote environmental protection and public health and how to safely and effectively conduct an onsite soil evaluation for the purpose of permitting an OWTS.

Supplies needed: Clipboard, pencil, scratch paper, measuring tape, water squeeze bottle (mustard bottle), scraping tool (flathead scredriver, file, chisel ect.) optional Munsel soil color book (recommended but not required)
